Burn Bans

Burn bans are instated by Freestone County as outdoor conditions warrant.  Factors such as recent rainfall amounts, wind speeds and humidity levels affect the decision to place or lift a ban.  They are designed to keep all of us safe from the threat of wildfires.

We notify you by email and by placing a sign near the entry gate, but you can always check the current ban status by clicking on the flame picture above.  It will take you directly to the official Freestone County burn status page.
